Editor’s note: The new Guangzhou Library was completed in 2012 as one of the four iconic public cultural buildings at the square on Guangzhou’s new urban central axis. It is also a representative work of GZDI chaired by Vice President and Chief Architect Ma Zhencong. The design was inspired by the concept of beautiful books, creating a contemporary and sculptural building in book form with the greatest angle of inclination. The project is recognized in the design circles as one with the highest sense of design.
